Dr. Oksana Skidan, author and speaker, standing beside a stone wall in a black suit and white shirt.

I spent the first half of my life learning how to hold a room without saying a word.

Now I use words.

I was a concert pianist before I became an author. My life has been shaped by immigration, business, nearly three decades of marriage, motherhood, reinvention, and work in Ukraine during the war.

Today, I speak about the question underneath all of it:

What changes when a woman becomes the authority in her own life?

My work brings together Self-Permission, Female Longevity, psychology, lived experience, and the realities of modern midlife.

I’m not interested in giving women another set of instructions for how to live.

I’m interested in what happens when we stop waiting for permission and begin authoring our lives.
